Just had bbq with ex team mates from cchms. Lol, I dont know how to describe it.
But at the end when leckhui's mother asked us whether it was fun, we couldnt really say anything. Probably cause us seniors were like at the bbq corner busy bbqing while the other juniors were playing amongst themselves?

Anyway, pics here. lazy to describe them.

Oh, somehow, everything in my com went back to normal. The pics and documents reinstated back to their orignal places(: Must be the office 2007 problem.
Nevertheless, vista still rocks.

{edited} corrected some grammatical errors.
I've always thought that the advancement in technology isn't really a good thing.
Nowadays, phones are getting more complicated in terms of functions and so on. Phones with touch screens are getting more common among Singaporeans. Well, not only Singaporeans I guess, but almost all the first world countries.

One good example is the iPhone. I've tried using it, and it's definitely more complex than the normal Sony Erricson K810i phone that I use. Does that mean it's more handy and it's functions are better than our normal phones? Just to go to one simple application, which you can easily press a button on the normal phones, you have to enter lots of windows before successfully getting to the application if you're using iPhone or any other touch screen phone.

But why are there so many people around us desiring for iPhones? For all I know, You might even be one of those people. Is it for the sake of buying it to flaunt your wealth? Or is it simply just for it's uses?
No doubt, if one of my friend tells me she just bought an iPhone, I'll be like 'wow, so cool.' but come to think of it, I wont buy it even if I have the money.

Sometimes, simplicity may be the best.

Advancements in technology have indeed lessened our workload, making life easier for us. But it is also because of it that we have all developed a reliance on it. With the phonebook in our phones, we dont have to remember numbers anymore. There might be even people who dont even know their own house number. I cant imagine what will happen if these people are in some grave danger and dont even have their phones with them.

Have you ever wondered how the people in the past survived without the devices we have now?
I remember one particular Chinese literature lesson, where our teacher showed us a poem of two friends having to part. It indicated and expressed the kind of unwillingness and sorrow the two friends had as separation meant that they will have a high possibility of not meeting each other again. It's something we wont see these few days right. What's separation to us? We still have messenger, we still have our phones, and our email.

But think of the situation back then, how are the two friends going to meet up and talk over a cup of coffee( in this case tea instead of coffee cause the people back in those days dont drink coffee)? What can they do even when they miss each other? They have no phones, no postmen, no messengers.

Anyway, what im trying to say is that we are all getting complacent and over reliant on the technology such that we neglect important things like friendship and take things for granted.

I dont really like talking to friends on the messenger. Somehow, I feel that there's a barrier in between my friends and I. My preferred method is of course to ask my friends out and have a long chat face to face.

To be honest, I seldom sms my friends automatically, and I can just leave my phone in my bag for 1 or 2 days before realising I didnt have my phone with me for that long. Haha, so dont contact me when you're in trouble because im unreachable. And you should know the reason if I take a whole day to reply your msg.

Okay, I look like im writing a compo. Sorry I bored you.

The first thing people ask when they get to know me is ' Are you local?'

Lol, I dont see which part of me doesnt make me look like singaporean. Hah.
Not long ago, it was Colin who started the 'oh you look like korean' thing. He showed me a female artiste in some korean show on channel u recently( I dont know whether it's showing now) and said I look like her. Then Brandon also started saying I look like korean.

And today, when I made a new friend and also get to know one of my group member, they both asked whether im local. They said cause I look fair, when I thought Im counted quite dark cause of all the sun burnts previously.

Anyway, this week's very very hectic for me. I havent even started on the lab report due tmr. OMG. okay so long for now.

Term tests are coming up like in 1 week plus time? That's really really fast. We just started school only! Sigh, and then it'll be christmas, and chinese new year, and sem tests. Can time just go slower so we can catch up with it?

Jap presentation is tmr! I think I will get jittery and make a fool of myself. I've always hated presentations. To my relief, there isnt CG meeting tmr! Which means I can go to school at 4. Mayb I can sleep all the way to 2pm then get ready for school(: Laziness has gotten the better of me.

Anyway, I wont be blogging often now, lol I think I dont even blog frequently anyway. Preparing for term tests(:

Took 3 quizzes today. Woah, first time having so many quizzes in a day.
Luckily two are of the same subject.
Basic Mic tut quiz and lecture quiz was rather okay. Can pass. But HPI tut quiz was quite shitty. Arr. I've slacked a lot this sem. I must really start working hard already. I wont want to start to regret if I dont do well for term tests. It'll be too late by then.

Anyway, almost the whole tp table tennis team went to Mediacorp after our lessons for the audition of the new drama serial about table tennis coming in april 2009. Well, the director accepted all of us. Haha, so cool la. We'll be on tv!

The audition was quite okay, just that we girls have to memorize a script but luckily it wasnt quite difficult. When Leckhui and I were acting out in front of the director, we were quite nervous so I think I read the wrong line.

The director said Leckhui spoke too fast and soft so she allowed us to try another time. Then we went to play table tennis at some recreation place for the mediacorp people so they could see our skills.

We were all okay I guess, so they accepted all of us. I just hope we wont miss alot of lessons because the director said the acting will usually take a whole day and it will stretch out for 3 months. It wont be an everyday thing though. Hopefully we can balance both schoolwork and the acting.
Oh I almost forgot to say, I SAW JEANETTE AW! She's pretty, and pretty small in size too. LOL. She was going for some meeting of the Little Nyonya, a new show coming up on Channel 8.
Pictures we've taken yesterday when we had to wait 1 hour for our experiment. A class photo taken finally. Well, not exactly the whole class. Around 3 quarter i think.

Arr, feeling very touchy now.

It all began with the stupid tidbits vending machine. I decided to grab a packet of crackers from the machine, and somehow, the cracker got stuck halfway and didnt came out. okay, waste of 70 cents, i thought. So I inserted 70 cents more to get the same cracker from the same row so that the cracker that got stuck can drop out, so i can get two crackers. Well, both dropped.

BUT, one managed to drop inside the hole where I can reach to get the cracker, the other got stuck before it manage to drop into the hole, so it's like I spent 1.40 and i got only one small packet of cracker. I refused to walk away like that, so I inserted 70 cents again and got another cracker so when it drops, it can nudge the stucked cracker so it can drop into the hole. But well, heaven just likes to fool me. I still didnt get back my cracker. So I attempted to kick and punch but it didnt work. Lol, I was just venting my anger on that stupid machine.

Then on the bus, some indian guy was like standing in front of the stairs to the second deck, and he was blocking the way? So I stood there for a few seconds and apparently, he didnt feel my presence. Then a girl also wanted to go up the second deck, so I finally said 'Excuse me' but he still didnt hear what I said. Then the girl kind of shouting 'EXCUSE ME' at him and he finally budged.

Sickening day. ARR, it's wednesday tmr and I really hate wednesdays.

CCN DAY yesterday was fun(:
I did the first shift, standing at the 'frontline'. I was supposed to take orders from the people, then grab the cup and wait for others to fill it up. Not very tiring but when people make lots of orders, we will all be flustered. All I can say is we managed to sell all! Shannon told me they dropped the price from 1.50 to 1 and finally to 50 cents cause they were trying to clear the stocks.

So we didnt make a lot of profit either. At least we did contribute to the needy pple's fund.

Went back to cchms to train after I finished my shift, very very tiring cause we played quite a few matches. And I had to play 5 sets for almost all the matches. Lol, and after playing with regina, their coach told me I should have attacked more to her backhand, or I could have won her.

Even Yan jiao lian( our tp coach) knows that I always attack the opponents' forehand. I know I always attack pple's forehand, but I cant really change it. It's just a 'used-to-it' thing. I always hit to the diagonally opposite side cause it's easier. Sort of like a reflex action? Cant change it. Mayb I should just practise more to attack straight and not so much diagonally.

After trng, as usual we went to parkway. Played the new games at arcade. They finally bought the 'pop n music' machine! I remember how the suet hui, shujun, june, leckhui and I used to play that game at HDB hub. But for some reason, they removed that machine:(

Then there's this game where you have to throw those plastic balls kids like to play at the screen to shoot down people. Okay, I have more games to look forward to when I go to the arcade. JUNE, LECKHUI and SHUJUN! Let's go timezone soon! Play the scoop scoop and waste a lot of money. hahahah

Somehow, I keep thinking it's friday today.

Maybe cause it's CCN day tmr, which means I only have 1 hour of Basic FA lecture, followed by looking after our bubble tea booth, and Im done with the day!

We had Cell bio and Maths quiz today! Quite okay, only one or two questions that we couldnt really interprete. More quizzes coming up next week. Arr, this sem seems like it will be tough. Most of the things we are learning now sounds foreign, and it definitely requires lots of memorizing.

I dont know whether this is good or bad, but I dont really think of the past that much, like the days in cchms, all the cliques and stuff. Maybe cause Im already immuned to the nostalgic feeling. It used to hurt alot, but now it seems kind of minor. Not that i've becomed a person without feelings. But it's just, i guess we are all used to it.

Anyway, I just realised how silly we were in the past, getting unhappy or having grudges about minor things that dont even bother us now. I used to think that many pple around me were really self centred, they only thought for themselves. But I guess it doesnt really matter now. Mayb cause we have all grown up, to be more sensible, to learn to treasure one another.

Come to think of those squabbles in sec school now, they are really quite nonsensical. And I can just laugh off it as a joke now.

Anyway, enough of grumbling.
Here's some random pics of the thailand restaurant I was talking about in the previous post.
The menu is pretty,
Quiet and cosy setting
Great food. That's otah, the one in the right foreground
Of course, this comes with a high price.
My father's taiwan friend went back to taiwan, and before she left, she bought me and my sisters a watch each. And to our surprise, each watch costed her $200. The most expensive gift I've ever received from someone not in my family. But the watch dont really suit me cause it's some adult brand called Titus.
I shall wear it only on special occasions.

I have been eating great stuff these few days cause my father's taiwan friend came to Singapore and we brought her around, eating sumptuous meals every day.

I shall do an intro of the delicious food we had. We had bak kut teh opposite Central yesterday for lunch, not bad. Tried the food there once. But I dont really like eating all the pig intestines and goey stuff. The soup was great! But too much black pepper for me to take.

And today, we had thai food for lunch somewhere near bras besar. The resturant's setting is very unique, and it brings out the thai culture. Quite a cosy place. Plus the pineapple rice is really awesome(: A 'must try'. The bill was like 160 bucks.

Dinner was at No signboard restaurant at east coast. I cant remember when was the last time I ate crab! Finally got to taste it after what seemed like million years. We ordered brocolli with scallops, small kai lan, crayfish or small lobster, fried sotong and chilli crab! I was licking my fingers off while eating chilli crab. The taste is indescribable.

For the first time in my life, I felt bloated to the maximum. Ate until my stomach ache because of too much food. hahaha.
It's very rare that we get to eat such delicious food, of course I will try to eat as much as I can.

As expected, the bill was %*&#(*$&!()%*(%&#. It's $240! Too expensive.
Ahh, too bad I cant join my family and the taiwan friend for dinner tmr cause of SAJC friendly match. I will miss more good food.
I need more food to grow fatter(:

Fried small sotong.

This is the whole plate of the sotong. looks quite gross.

Chilli crab! Whoever can resist it? Tempted?
